Shift Supervisor - Converting

MAIN PURPOSE:
 
Driving business performance through effective leadership of a shift production crew to deliver business objectives.
 
 
Responsibilities will be but not limited to:
 
§  Managing Health, Safety and Risk to the zero-harm business-goal by ensuring hazards are identified and eliminated through strict adherence to procedures, timely audits and thorough investigation of incidents and taking of corrective and preventive actions.
§  Ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained
§  Ensuring machines are meeting targets and quality standards are adhered to with minimum waste
§  Managing the business in accordance with the daily production and maintenance plans on shift basis
§  Responsible for effectively managing costs within the production budget -overtime, consumable usage.
§  Effectively managing of Human Resources
§  Leading and motivating the shift crew to adopt a continuous improvement operational style
§  Ensure business processes are operated within SOPs and standardised across shifts.
§  Displaying an active and visible management coaching style, establishing, and maintaining appropriate standards for the performance and behaviour of team members.
§  Being accountable for the overall management of all daily Machine operations including Disciplinary measures implementation.
 
Requirements:
·         N6 Trade Test / S4 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering would be preferred
·         3-5 years solid production experience in a supervisory role
·         Supervisory qualification
·         Computer literate – CMMS and Microsoft office
·         Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
·         Sound verbal and written communication skills
·         An understanding of SHER legislation
·         Ability to coach and mentor
·         Goal orientated, stable, demonstrate integrity and be able to make decisions under pressure
