Shift Extrusion Supervisor - Flexibles Packaging Manufacturing

SUMMARY:
A well-known and established food packaging company requires a Shift Extrusion Supervisor for a fully resourced flexibles packaging plant.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Minimum matric.
• Previous blown film extrusion Supervisory experience is essential, preferably working within the flexibles packaging manufacturing industry.
• Must be willing and able to work shifts and overtime when required.
• Previous experience having worked with barrier film production is pref.
• Previous experience having worked on 5 7- and 9-layer machines would be advantageous.
• A good knowledge of polymers - polyethylene is pref.
• Previous experience in running blown film lines is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: 

• Previous experience verifying new work orders and prioritising tasks.
• Ensure plan sequences are executed.
• Compile reports of deviations of plan and corrective action measures.
• Co-ordinate with various departments linked to production to ensure plant efficiency.
• Attend and chair production meetings.
• Provide production and scrap reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct periodic checks on equipment, quality, safety and 5s.
• Resolve industrial relations and disciplinary issues when necessary.
• Ensure line performance is at optimum levels at all times.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
