Service Technician / Rep

SUMMARY:
Service Technician / Rep (Cape Town) 6 Month Contract R7,500 PM CTC

POSITION INFO:

The purpose of the Service Technician / Rep is to ensure that client systems are working property and are up to date, responsible for all technical related service in the designated region and ensuring client satisfaction and product value.

Minimum Requirements:

Basic technical knowledge and able to wire a domestic power plus and use screw drivers, pliers and drill

An aptitude to get things done and confidence to get to the source of technical issues

Must have a driver’s license

Good communication skills and able to communicate on all levels with clients

Well-groomed and presentable

Good English and Afrikaans

Computer literate

Knowledge:

Broad layman’s knowledge of switchboards and switchboard communication flows.

Duties:

Client base - ensure client satisfaction and product value to all clients within the reps designated area of responsibility.

Manual message updates - ensure that the recordings for manual updates provided by the studio are downloaded onto an MP3 unit / emails received via cell phone.

Ensure that key staff at manual clients are trained on how to facilitate manual downloads to the unit or transfer of production to USB for playback.

Correct listing of the trained contact

Ensure that breakdowns requiring 3^rd party assistance are reported to the despatch supervisor immediately.

Deliver and facilitate installation of new units to first time clients.

Provide training to the receptionist, marketing and IT or relevant individuals on how to run the units.

Ensure all efforts are made to recover equipment from cancelled accounts.

All cancellation documentation is to be filled out correctly and signed by the client

Network with PABK technicians to learn and document the procedures for operating new switchboards and adding details to CRM

Report back on new findings and trends to management

Pass on PABX industry sales leads to the sales manager

Add new PABX contacts and companies to CRM

CRM data capture and weekly / monthly reports

Update client records

Ensure that client problems are attended to within the 48hour turnaround time

Ensure oil refills are carried out at the client

Ensure units are clean and no leaking or spraying

Voicebox maintenance and handling of issues within 48 hours of turnaround time

Maintain service kit – ensure fully stocked and in order.

Branch meetings

Assist with office admin and vehicle maintenance
