Service Consultant/Personal Lines Underwriter

SUMMARY:
Our client in the insurance industry is urgently looking to employ a Service Consultant/Personal Lines Underwriter at their organization

POSITION INFO:

Location: East London

Job description: To provide a rewarding service experience and appropriate risk solutions at all touchpoints.

Requirements:

• Matric
• FETC Level 4 Short-term Insurance Qualification
• Higher Certificate in Insurance
• RE5: Representatives
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within short-term insurance of which 3 years should be in a broking environment
• Underwriting experience in a personal lines environment will be an advantage

Responsibilities:

• Attend to all client queries (revision, renewals, premium negotiations with insurers, amendments, cancellations, unpaid premiums)
• Do up and cross-selling of products.
• Identify new business opportunities
• Identify opportunities for cross and up-selling on existing clients
• Liaise with insurers or management regarding premiums and quotations if applicable
• Build relationships through regular and proactive caring calls - keeping them abreast of the latest products and any news of relevance to them
• Provide a rewarding service experience at all touchpoints
• Ensure that customer queries are attended to and resolved expeditiously
• Respond to client’s requirements by providing appropriate risk solutions.
• Ensure data integrity on all systems / Policy systems/ Re:Solve / Quotemaster
• Do amendments correctly & promptly
• General correspondence and e-mails to clients according to company standards
• Manage incoming and outgoing e-mails according to set norms and standards.
• Responsible for Pro-Active personal lines underwriting.
• Adhere to underwriting criteria-FAIS requirements and set company standards
• Ensure regular report and feedback to the manager
• Support to Commercial Account Executive in obtaining quotes, summaries, appointments, and other related Administration.
