POSITION INFO:

Our well established commercial vehicle dealer client based in Johannesburg currently holds a vacancy for an experienced AA Service Auto Electrician Technician, with MAN experience.

Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to carry out all electrical repairs and fault finding on heavy commercial vehicles.
The successful candidate will report to the Service Manager.

Specific Role Responsibilities
• Accurately diagnose vehicle faults found and reported on a vehicle
• Report any vehicle faults other than those detailed on the job card
• Order replacement parts
• Service heavy automotive equipment
• Ensure hazardous waste is disposed of appropriately
• Attend to breakdowns
• Maintenance, service and repair
• Carry out required repairs to MAN standards
• To ensure that the workshop safety procedures are maintained
• To ensure that the workshop area is clean and tidy at all times
• To take personal responsibilities in complying with MAN JHB policy on ethical business conduct and behaviour and to report any contraventions that could harm the business to the senior management of the company
• Must be able to work overtime and 24 stand-by
• Adhering to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience
• Qualified Technician with Electrical trade certificate
• Code 14 driver’s license with PDP
• Excellent electrical skills and skill in diagnosing problems
• Good Computer skills

• Familiar with computer diagnostics

• MAN experience

Skills and Personal Attributes
• Knowledge about vehicle engines and parts, automotive electronics and workshop engineering (advantage)
• Knowledge about Transport Safety Regulations and safety standards
