JOB DESCRIPTION:

Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Test Analyst. The successful candidate will be reporting to the QA Lead, the Senior Test Analyst will participate in all Testing functions within a Solution Delivery Team. When the responsibilities of the tester are fulfilled on the Solution Delivery Team in any given Sprint (as determined by the Solution Delivery Team Lead), the Senior Test Analyst will report back to the independent QA team.

The Senior Test Analyst will work closely with all members of a Solution Delivery Team, as well as all other QA Team Members

Duties & Responsibilities

Raise defects and ensure fixes are progressed through to verification
Create detailed Functional and Acceptance Criteria tests
From Specifications and Requirements, including edge cases where appropriate
Manage the manual execution of tests within the
Solution Delivery Team, providing regular updates to the Solution Delivery Team Lead
Manage the manual execution of tests within the QA
team, providing regular updates to the QA Lead(as required)
Write automation scenarios in Gherkin, from specifications
The Senior QA Tester is also expected to understand automation test reports and to raise defects based on automation failures
Mentor and assist Junior - Intermediate level testers within the wider team
Knowledge of healthcare systems is a major advantage
Perform Requirements Extraction.
Create, maintain & implement test plans.
Log and manage Defects, escalate to Test Lead.
Provide support to Developers by investigating and recreating reported defects.
Work following a standard testing methodology.
Management and colleagues.
Direct reports (when applicable).
Write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the testing process. communicate delays etc to Test Lead. other portfolios / divisions. program testing, changes, and corrections. the company.
Plan and work flexibly to a deadline
Creating documentation for signoff.
Assist the Test Lead on large, complex projects
Identify risks pertinent to the project and ensure that these risks are communicated to the Test Lead.
Assist and contribute to broader company Product Development efforts across all delivery areas.
Build good working relationship with management team and colleagues.
Proactive and regular communication with:
Cross-departmental staff members.
Keep track of actual versus planned progress and
Continuing professional development.
Meet personal development plan requirements.
Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of healthcare management systems.
Keeping up to date with technical as well as industry sector developments.
Perform mentoring, coaching and knowledge transfer by assisting peers, other testers and staff in other portfolios / divisions.
Write and maintain documentation to describe program testing, changes, and corrections.
Maintain a working knowledge in the focus areas of the company.
Source & share test initiatives new to the market with potential to improve existing processes and methodologies.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Formal Education

Matric
Ideally, a diploma or certificate in information systems, computer science or other relevant disciplines from an accredited school.

Experience Required

Previous experience in Software Product Development; Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans
Experience in Test Management tool/s

Knowledge & skills

Essential:

Experience with Jira or equivalent
Excellent ability to write tests from functional specifications Fast learner Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Excellent organizational skills
A qualification in a technical IT-related discipline ISTQB Foundation Level or equivalent 5+ years'''''''' experience as a QA Tester
Agile experience Testing of Mobile Apps
Testing of browser-based apps Gherkin (Optional)
Basic SQL
Basic Unix (Optional)

Nice to have:

Experience with automation frameworks within a Continuous Integration environment. Healthcare systems experience
OSX and iOS
