SUMMARY:
Senior Test Analyst (Sandton)

POSITION INFO:

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:

vPlanning:

vCreate and Implement Test Plans for a Scheduled Release and/or Small Project.

vAdd all required Testing Tasks to the Scrum Board for each story.

vTesting Preparation:

vEnsure that all Requirements are added for each story.

vUnderstand the Product and Business specifications and extract test requirements.

vDesign test cases & test scenarios based on analysis of product & business specifications.

vScript Test Cases for all stories into standard tool.

vMap Test Cases to Requirements.

vEnsure that test cases are reviewed and signed off by the Business Analyst.

vEnsure that the necessary Test Data is created for Test Cases.

vEnsure that all environmental setup/configuration is done for Testing.

vPeer Review of test cases.

vReview test requirements with the test manager and business analyst.

vReview Acceptance Criteria of all assigned stories.

vExecution:

vEnsure that all Test Cases are executed for Cycle 1 & 2 within the required timelines.

vTest Cases Execution Rate should conform to the approved Execution Rate standards.

vEnsure that the necessary Test Evidence is included in std tool (JIRA) for every test run.

vEnsure that Defects are logged for all failed test cases.

vEnsure that the defect conforms to the approved Defect format for standard tool (JIRA).

vRetest all defects immediately after they are resolved and deployed to the environment.

vEscalate all showstopper defects to the Test Lead/Dev Manager.

vRun Cycle 2/Regression around the feature once all defects have been resolved.

vEnsure zero high impact defects in Production environment.

vApply Multiple Testing techniques and efficiencies.

vReporting:

vUpdate and send daily status details to Test Lead.

vRaise all risks with the Test Manager and/or Dev Manager and implement identified mitigation actions.

vRaise all scope creep/change in scope to the Test Manager and/or Dev Manager.

vProvide Impact analysis on the current workload.

vGovernance:

vGovern the testing completed by federated teams to ensure accurate test coverage and adherence to processes.

vParticipate in knowledge transfer sessions and document processes to share.

Education and Experience:

vMatric. Informatics Degree or Diploma advantageous.

v6 years’ experience in Testing roles.

vTechnical Skills:

vInterpreting business and technical specifications to create test plans.

vSoftware Regression Framework

vRegression, usability, sanity and functional testing methods

vUnderstanding of JIRA and Agile principles, SOAP UI, XML, SQL advantageous

vFitnesse experience advantageous, Automated Testing experience preferred.
