Senior Technology Architect

POSITION INFO:

Our client a Global Tech firm is seeking a Senior Technology Architect to join their team in Cape town on a Contract basis for 12 months. Our client offers great benefits, stability, growth and an attractive salary.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Seven (7) - fifteen (15) years of technology architect experience;
• Relevant qualification; and
• Experience in at least two (2) of the following areas, but with knowledge of all:
• Technology architecture;
• Data architecture;
• Computer hardware;
• Operating systems;
• Security architecture;
• Platform applications; and
• Azure Cloud.

Responsibilities and Job Function

• Design the high-level structure of new technology solutions, including emerging technologies, to fulfil the customer needs and requirements, within the Government Motor Transport IT department framework;
• Manage and review the technical solution design including technical drawings, specifications and equipment required;
• Manage the proof-of-concept if required;
• Review and manage all technical deliverables for a successful technical solution delivery;
• Define the applications required to operationalise the business;
• Ensure all applications integrate intelligently, as required;
• Manage the alignment of application components with the application architecture and performance goals; and
• Analyse and review the application and data issues that would impact application integrity.

Knowledge and Skills

The general skills required for this position are:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite;
• Excellent written and facilitation skills; and
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, quickly changing and sometimes unstructured environment.

The technical skills required for this position are:

• Solid ability to transform customer requirements into application requirements and to recommend the appropriate technologies;
• Solid experience in a variety of technologies including cloud technologies;
• Solid knowledge of the Oracle ERP and Apex environments;
• Detailed knowledge of the Azure Cloud environment; and Solid knowledge of information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) and information technology service management (ITSM) frameworks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Appropriate and recognised formal computer science and / or related qualification
• Experience of seven (7) - fifteen (15) years within a technology architect role.
