Senior Quality Assurance Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the QA Manager our client required a candidate that has obtained supervisory experience in the quality department of a manufacturing company.

POSITION INFO:

You will be required to ensure that all products are manufactured to the customer''s specifications within the realms of food safety and quality systems in place. Included will be the management of all quality supervisors/controllers on shift. Your attention to detail and maintaining high levels of effective food safety and quality management system is in production is essential.

Qualifications & Knowledge

• Matric certificate
• Relevant experience in plastic manufacturing at least 3 years
• Supervisory Management
• Knowledge in food safety & quality management systems
  • ISO 9001 and FSSC----- Knowledge
• Computer literate
• Must be prepared to work shifts and weekends as and when required.
• Must not be colour blind
• Good communication skills

Key Result Areas

• Work closely with heads of departments in carrying out investigations both external and internal to establish root causes, corrective and preventive actions
• Conducting audits and ensure the plant meets the Quality and Food Safety standards.
• Compile all product specifications as per customer requirements
• Compiling Certificates of Analysis outgoing finished products
• Conducting in-house training on Food Safety and Quality standards
• Supervise all quality supervisors and controllers and their activities during the shift
• Upgrading and maintenance of quality management and food safety system documentation
• Calibration of test equipment
• Daily product testing
• Working closely with the QAM and the GM to ensure that the Quality Report is actioned daily
• Assist in the development and implementation of new packaging solutions for the customer
• Assist in continually seeking improvement opportunities in packaging waste reduction, manufacturability, quality, and performance within our existing product range.
• Compiling monthly reports as per customer requirement.
• Verify that quality check sheets for all departments are being completed
• Participate in supplier, customer and/or certification audits as required by QA Manager.
• Issuing and distributing of all PPE
• Carrying out administration functions
• Administering the QC shift roster and tracking overtime.
• Monitoring the stock levels of all QC relevant equipment
