Senior Project Manager required for a specialist cloud consultancy, based from either Dundee or Aberdeen.
The company:
They are a growing Cloud and Infrastructure consultancy and are also changing as a business, with large scale projects and clients being won. They have offices in either Dundee or Aberdeen, however this role will have a blended work from home and office model, with office work a day or two a week.
They are a medium sized business and you will be joining as a Senior member of the team. Currently, the business works on small to medium sized projects however there is a changing focus to larger scale projects and also bigger clients. They are looking for someone with a strong consultancy or managed services background and also who is definitely senior in stature.
The role:
You will need to be a senior Project Manager with very strong stakeholder management skills. Some of the projects that you will lead will have multiple stakeholders and often amongst a number of different organisations. You will need to manage demanding stakeholders and this will include external and often internal, also. You will be project managing a small, internal team and the company have an ongoing emphasis on AWS. Having led a team of both service delivery and technology professionals is a real advantage and doing this virtually will be a common occurrence, moving forward.
The company has done well throughout Covid-19 and this is part of the reason for their growth. Having an infrastructure/IT background would be ideal for this role, however it is not absolutely necessary. A strong consultancy Project Management background, is more important.
Key responsibilities and background:
** Ability to define, document and successfully complete complex projects
** Accountable for project delivery, in which you will be expected to adopt and adapt project management methods and tools, selecting appropriately from plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches
** Responsible for proactive resource planning and management as well as third-party resource management
** Responsible for effective project control, change control, risk management, and ensure that testing processes are maintained. You will also monitor and control resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget and manage the expectations of all project stakeholders
You as a person:
** Strong project management background in a managed services or consultancy type organisation
** Ability to build trusting relationships with customers including understanding their business needs and technical challenges
** Ability to manage teams to ensure delivery can be met even when faced with complex technical problems across multiple technology domains
** Understanding of managed hybrid cloud services (bonus)
** Understanding of private and public cloud infrastructure platforms (bonus)
** Experience of project managing the implementation of green field solutions and data centre and cloud migrations (bonus)
