SUMMARY:
My client in Uitenhage is looking for a Senior Production Buyer

POSITION INFO:

Min Requirement:

• Degree or Higher - level Diploma in Business related studies of Supplier Management / Purchasing or Engineering Degree.
• Minimum 5 years experience 
• Exceptional record on cost saving
• Advance skills, Excell, Word and PowerPoint or equivalent software.
• Ability to identity risk and establish suitable contingency plans with cross functional team.
• Candidates must be between 30 - 38 (Senior)

Responsibilities :

• On time / On cost / On Quality Customer Project Launches.
• Obtain and analyzes quotes to determine best value.
• Facilitate Technical Review and Assessment (TRA) as part of Sourcing Process.
• Recommend global soucing solutions based on data and facts collected.
• Understand the business and product needs for pricing and sourcing and ensure that sourcing recommendation align within Plant and Global Commodity Strategy for respective commodity.
• Establish and execute strategies for assigned commodies.
• Attend Global Commodity Management calls for assigned commodities as plant representive.
• Understand and effectively utilize key cost drivers and industry related events events to assigned commodities.
• Formulate annual business plans for achievement of cost reduction and yearly performance improvement.
• Manage and negotiate supply agreements that require improvements in suppliers cost ,delivery , quality, order lead time, payment cycles, technology, and/or risk mitigation.
• Initates renegotiation efforts well in advance of contract expiration and monitors industry trends to anticipate opportune timmimg to lock in contracting advatages.
• Monitors performance of the suppliers to ensure attainment of obejective in quality,delivery,service and cost.
• Coordinates supplier selection.
• Leads supplier transition and supplier change requests (CSD''''s for supplier requests).
• Monitors compliance with supplier contractual requiments.
• Identify opportunities of global leverage of volumes and purchasing power.
• Ensure and monitor the result and contribution of the assigned commodity to departmental and corporate objectives.
• Presents special assigment result, projects updates and such to Management required.
• Ensure annual 3 % savings on managed spend target is achieved, as well as any revised stretch target.
