JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client within the FMCG industry is looking for a Senior Product Developer to join their team!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Food safety and legislation
  • Ensuring raw materials used in development comply with customer policies, A- lists and other client requirements. Ensure all required documentation is requested, screened and approved by relevant food technologists. Consulting with relevant persons internally, externally and with customer.
  • Trends / Market Research/Understanding of the Competitors and Marketplace
  • Keeping up to date with trends and concepts relevant to industry through various channels – Mintel, The Trend Hub, Social Media,
  • Nielsen and networking. Regular store visits with team to all retailers or client’s stores, to keep up to date with competitor products.
  • Detailed analysis and understanding of competitor products and sharing of this info with relevant persons in house and with client.
  • Attending Food / Raw Material related shows / talks / events.
  • Benchmark ranges annually. Follow benchmark schedule and complete feedback, share internally & with client.
  • People Management
  • Have the ability to manage, guide and mentor other product developers in department.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Food Science / Technology / Culinary (3 years minimum) or relevant tertiary qualification
  • 7-10 years experience in a similar role (advantageous)
  • Experience in product development and implementation
