Attention all Procurement Officers/ Specialists!

POSITION INFO:

My client a leading and well know FMCG Company based in Saldanha on the West Coast requires a competent and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join their team.

This position reports to the Procurement Manager.

The purpose of the position is to buy goods and services in support of the operation activities of the division.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess the following attributes:

Commercial Degree (BComm) /Degree ESSENTIAL

8 Years’ experience in a Buying Capacity where 3 years have been spent in a management capacity

Strong knowledge of applicable commercial legislation

FMCG experience will be a huge bonus

Strong administrative and numerical skills, including Computer Literacy – MS Office

Strong customer service, good verbal and written communication skills

Excellent people skills

Ability to perform under pressure

Customer centric

SA Citizens only

Must be Criminal clear

Must be willing to relocate to Saldanha/Vredenburg/ Langebaan

Duties include but will not be limited to:

Purchasing goods and services in-line with purchasing-policies and procedures

Maintain good business relations with suppliers to ensure best possible service

Select and source from suppliers in line with preferential procurement targets

Follow up on outstanding orders

Be able to evaluate complex quotations

Negotiate best prices, discounts and settlement discounts

Manage staff performance and development

Manage department expenditure within budget guidelines

Support creditors function by investigating and actioning supplier invoice queries promptly

Liaise with suppliers in terms of the logistics of deliveries
