Senior Linux administrator required for a global manufacturer based in Edinburgh.
The company started off in California and has been rapidly expanding across the globe with offices in Germany, Asia, and Scotland with plans to expand further! Their products are focussed primarily within the automotive industry for autonomous driving, electrical cars and more!
You will be managing, maintaining, and supporting engineering's high performance Linux environment as well as assisting with BAU support across the full business. You will bring your extensive knowledge of Linux operating systems to ensure the design of the system allows everything to work together properly, designing and deploying servers and apps, making any recommendations for future upgrades, managing virtual infrastructure and VDI software, and evaluating and modifying the systems performance. You will potentially get the chance to travel to their other offices across Asia or the US, implementing Linux Environments, providing end user support, and taking leadership to ensure new members to the team are skilled up to carry out duties successfully.
You will have the following Skills/Experience -
** Strong demonstrable experience Linux scripting - Python, Bash, Pearl
** Strong configuration experience - Puppet
** Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Operating Systems (2008R2 - 2019) both desktop and server OS
** Exceptional in-depth experience in corporate Linux environments
** Knowledge and experience working with VMWare and Fiber channel, iSCSI or NFS SAN
** Bachelor's degree in computer science or related subject/ equivalent experience
