POSITION INFO:
A prominent South African retail group is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor for their Cape Town office. This well-established company manages an array of retail brands, covering various sectors from clothing to household goods.
They are looking for an ambitious and analytical Senior Internal Auditor to join their Internal Audit team. In this critical role, you will help strengthen governance, risk management, and compliance across the business.

Duties:

Lead audits across governance, financial, operational, and business processes at both division and unit levels.
Ensure audit assignments are completed within time and budget constraints.
Support the Head of Internal Audit with operational and reporting responsibilities.
Identify areas for innovation, proposing solutions to enhance client processes and audit practices.
Collaborate with the Internal Audit Manager to scope and plan audit projects.
Integrate data analytics into audit processes for improved efficiency and deeper insights.
Review governance, risk management, and internal controls, and identify root causes of issues.
Provide actionable recommendations to enhance risk management and business processes.
Work with management to discuss audit findings and recommendations.
Produce clear and concise audit reports, summarizing findings and suggested improvements.

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12)
BCom Finance
BCom Honours
CIA is beneficial

Experience:

5 - 8 years in internal audit, with at least 2-3 years in a senior audit role.
Experience with SAP and strong knowledge of internal control processes.
Familiarity with retail operations and customer credit services is a plus.
Expertise in data analysis tools (Advanced Excel, SQL) and auditing IT controls is highly desirable.
Proficiency with MS Office or Google Workspace.

Ability to handle multiple projects, work independently or as part of a team, and consistently deliver high-quality results.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
