Senior Internal Auditor – Credit and Technical - Durban

Key Performance Areas:
1. Perform various Internal Audits including integrated (process and       application controls) internal audits as and when required

2. Take ownership and accountability for Internal Audit work performed.  

3. Display a thorough understanding of internal auditing process in terms of IA standards (planning; system documentation and programme development; detailed testing; reporting administration and finalisation),

4. Ownership is to commence from detailed scoping, to report compilation/discussion with senior company officials, requiring that the successful candidate apply industry standards in terms of:

• Developing relevant client relationships;
• Determining the detailed scope and planning the assignment;
• Compiling detailed process documentation and technical understanding (and data flows for integrated reviews);
• Leading interviews/walkthroughs;
• Performing/assisting with the identification and documentation of related business and IT risks and controls and identifying deficiencies;
• Producing detailed audit test programs and comprehensive documentation of audit test results;
• Documenting findings including solid recommendations in terms of corrective action plans;
• Following-up of the suitable implementation of agreed management action plans;
• Taking responsibility for the performance of ad-hoc project and assignments requiring research and keeping current with industry developments and requirements; and
• Completing reviews/assignments on time/ in budget, in accordance with the organisation''''s internal audit methodology.

5. Prepare/assist in the preparation of board quality audit reports to Audit Committee and members of senior management.
6. Work directly with the Internal Audit Manager to report results of audit planning, testing, and reporting, including frequent communications in terms of the progress of such.
7. Work with, and co-ordinate the work of external audit, as required.
