Kontak Recruitment is currently sourcing and recruiting for a Senior Instructional Designer vacancy based in Century City, Cape Town. The Senior Instructional designer is responsible to analyse training needs; instructionally design (ID) and develop course programmes; work with SMEs on storyboards to ensure that the learning design of all course content and learning activities promotes student engagement and is quality assured and tested. The role of the Senior Instructional Designer is to manage this ID process, guide and assist the junior instructional designer, as well as operationally manage the workflow of the office of Learning Innovation Unit (LIU) in Cape Town.
Educational Requirements for Senior Instructional Designer:
A post schooling qualification, preferably a degree or education qualification.
Understanding of learning interactions and learning outcomes
Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
Lesson and curriculum planning skills
Knowledge of course development software and
Visual design skills
Ability to write copy/instructional text
Copy, fact and accuracy checking skills
Management
Management of junior instructional designer tasks, ensuring tasks are fulfilled. Providing adequate training and support to junior instructional designer.
Graphic design team management of tasks, checking design layout, imagery etc.
Optional management of Cape Town LIU team, workflow process of all team members.
Instructional Design/ Story Boarding
Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
Assist with providing exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
Assist in the creation of supporting material
Research
Conduct instructional design research and analysis on existing theories and practices
Conduct research on online courses
SAQA, SETA, NQF changes and requirements
Quality Assurance
Maintenance and continuous improvement on course material
Implementation of academic procedures
Administration
Check course content is received timeously
All SME contracts and documents are in order
