Senior IT Technician, Stellenbosch

POSITION INFO:

Our client, a property market Leader in South Africa, are currently looking for a Senior IT Technician Support, who can start as soon as possible, or immediately at their offices in Stellenbosch.

Minimum requirements:

• Matric
• A+, N+ or equivalent
• MCSA / MCSE or equivalent
• 3 years’ experience in Server & Network management.
• Experience in MDA or Nicor advantageous

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Desktop support.

-        Handle overflow calls from Desktop support

-        Manage escalated / sensitive support tickets

• Printer Support

-        Fix basic printer problems

-        Log call with supplier to deal with bigger issues and supply toners

• Server support/maintenance

-        Plan/setup new servers

-        Resolve any issues with ELS servers

-        Check and release WSUS updates

-        Perform regular maintenance on servers (Updates, performance checks)

• Server backup support/maintenance

-        Setup Veeam for any new servers that needs backing up

-        Check Veeam backups are running correctly.

-        Sort out any issues with server backups

• Mail configuration/support

-        Setup new email address’ (POP, exchange)

-        Troubleshoot any mail issues

-        Monitor server resources

• Software

-        VIP Configuration.

-        Backup and install latest version when requested. Credentials on PIM

-        Solve any issues with VIP. To report to VIP support for any issues I could not solve.

• Nicor configuration/support

-        Setup new users

-        Setup permissions.

-        Allow access to Nicor support if requested.

-        Solve any issues with Nicor. To report to Nicor support for any issues

• Caseware support

-        Setup new cloud users

-        Make sure Caseware license sheet up to date.

-        Configure permissions on cloud

-        Resolve any issues and to report to Caseware support for any issues I could not resolve.

• Adobe

-        Ensure correct amount of licenses are renewed each year.

-        Maintain license allocation info

• CCTV

-        Monitor CCTV server to make sure system is recording

-        Pull any recordings that are needed.

• Firewall configuration/support

-        Configure firewall rules

-        Configure any new network changes.

-        Make sure appropriate websites are blocked.

• Stock take

-        Perform monthly stock take on IT equipment in EL spare cupboard.

• Cell phone admin

-        Keep cell phone info up to date

-        Check on what contracts can be upgraded/cancelled.

• Reporting

-        Check that access report gets sent out

-        Confirm Man3000 sends out correct reports

-        Send out IT weekly Ticket stat report

-        Send out Task Calendar check sheet

-        Send out Stock report for EL and CPT before Manco
