Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer (Transport and Logistics)

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng             

Position Overview:

A well-established international transport and logistics concern is seeking the expertise of an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer.

The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer/Officer - within the discipline of IT Service Management (ITSM) as defined by the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) will be responsible for supporting the IT Infrastructure Team.

Role Specific Functions:

• Ensure an ITIL MIS support process
• Ensure production follow-up
• Manage IT Hardware resources
• Manage IT Infrastructure projects
• Ensure capacity planning for IT Infrastructure
• Must be the custodian of the group norms and policies respect
• Apply the firms BTL security and licensing policies
• Manage IT Infrastructure related contracts and SLA
• Maintain and update documentation
• Ensure IT Infrastructure management is compliant
• Techno watch, anticipate new technologies

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Skills Required

Minimum Requirements:

• A completed Master’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in supporting and maintaining VMWare systems (6.7)
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in supporting and maintaining Microsoft Systems and Networks – MS Server 2019 and 2019, MS SQL, IIS, WSUS, PowerShell, and Remote Desktop Services.
• ITIL Practitioner (V3) or ITIL Specialist (V4).
• Strong knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory environment.
• Windows Server: Advanced level.
• Knowledge in network or telecom - Cisco Certifications.
• Advanced level in vCenter or HyperV or Azure.
• Knowledge in IBM AS/400 environment.
• ISO 27000, other IT Security Training.
• Prince2, PMP or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Ability to Manage a Technical Project.
• Experienced in working within Large Corporate Environments.
• Must be willing and prepared to travel.
• Must have a valid passport.
