Senior IT Auditor (EE) - Cape Town/ Sandton

SUMMARY:
Seeking a Senior IT Auditor with a Nat Diploma in Internal Audit or Financial Information Systems or a B Comm. (Information Systems) or aNat Diploma in Information Technology, plus at least 3 - 4 years audit experience within Internal Audit or External IT Audit for an EE position with a large corporate in Sandton or Cape Town.

POSITION INFO:

Job Role

• Under direct supervision, carry out routine phases of the IT systems, security and general controls and audit function.
• Assist in the auditing of new and existing information systems applications for divisions or group companies to ensure that appropriate controls exist, that processing is efficient and accurate and that systems and procedures are in compliance with corporate standards. 
• Will be involved with complex system implementation reviews, project management activities, change control audits, data centre security review et cetera. 
• Liaise closely with Line Management and External Auditors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Control Adequacy Reviews (CAR’s) and Control Effectiveness Reviews (CER’s) for key IT Processes covered as part of the General Control Audits conducted across the Group, including the following:
  • Confirming the design of key controls supporting the process.
  • Confirming the effective working of internal controls by execution of audit programme.
  • Obtaining the relevant audit evidence to complete the effectiveness testing (with the assistance of the Audit Specialists).
  • Documentation of audit work / completion of audit work-papers and electronic audit files.
  • Preparation of a draft list of audit observations and the draft audit report.
  • Discuss preliminary audit observations with management.
• Technical Security Reviews - Perform technical security reviews on server and database technologies supporting the key business applications, including the following:
  • Interpretation of audit evidence and technical script output.
  • Completion of the audit programme and electronic audit file.
  • Preparation of lists of outstanding issues or areas that require investigation / discussion with Management.
  • Preparation of a draft technical report as well as discussion of the draft audit report with management.
  • Technologies include Windows, AIX, Linux, Solaris, SQL, Sybase and Progress.
• Assist Senior IT Auditors and Audit Specialists with ad-hoc audit reviews. 

Requirements 

Qualifications

One of the following qualifications:

• Nat Diploma in Internal Audit or Financial Information Systems
• B Comm. (Information Systems)
• Nat Diploma in Information Technology

Experience

• Minimum 3 - 4 years audit experience within Internal Audit or External IT Audit

Knowledge/ Skills

• Understand and comply with the IIA standards on fieldwork.
• Understanding of relevant IT Audit frameworks such as CobiT 5.
• Knowledge of audit techniques and principles.
• Basic awareness of business processes.
• Understands the importance of using technology in the audit process.
• Assist with System Audits
• Assist with System development audits
• Analysis and reporting on results
• Project Management
