Senior Forwarding Import Controller

SUMMARY:
This role will require you to own the complete process in managing and coordinating the clients Air & Sea Imports expectations.

POSITION INFO:

inimum Requirements:

• Matric/Senior Secondary Qualification (NQF4)
• Minimum of 5 Years’ experience within a Forwarding/Imports Controller position
• Minimum of 3+ Years’ experience in a direct Freight Forwarding Operational Environment (Air & Ocean Freight) end to end process
• Sound and current knowledge of INCOTERMS
• Fully computer literate in all MS Office Suite Applications
• Must have at least 3+ years working experience on Cargo Wise (pre-requisite)
• Must have a valid, unendorsed drivers’ licence
• Own vehicle (advantageous)

Key Performance Areas will include but not be limited to:

• Coordinate collection and shipping of imported cargo with clients purchase order and estimate ready date
• Ensure estimated ready date is met
• Communicate and escalate any potential delays to management in daily meetings
• Preparation of all administrative processes
• Retain and develop strong client relationships
• Ensure all changes pertaining shipment status is communicated to client and is in line with clients standard operating procedures
• Expense control and transit time management
• Query resolution management
• Responsible for on-time billing to clients
• Shipment monitoring throughout complete lifecycle
• Ensure consistent communication with any 3^rd party service providers, shipping lines, port authorities, transporters, container depots relating to each unique shipment
• Inform transporters regarding any potential delays, custom stops, and coordinate unpacking of containers at container depots, therefore minimising storage costs
