SUMMARY:
My client is based in Durban and is an international freight supply chain company. They are looking for a Senior Estimator to join their team - must have a minimum of 5 years experience in freight forwarding estimates and pricing for both imports and exports.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements

Degree with exposure to finance and / or accounting
OR 5 years minimum experience in freight forwarding estimates etc
Advanced Excel skills
Incoterms Certificate
Good geographical knowledge
Good understanding of shipping terms

Key functions

Preparation of modal estimates for imports and exports to comply with agreed timelines
Drive sales by developing and securing direct sales opportunities
Negotiate competitive rates with shipping lines, co loaders, overseas agents and transporters
Ensure estimates are accurate and competitive
Analysis of estimate reports i.e. failure vs successes / trade lane review / mutual office benefits and leads
Key personal attributes
