Senior Engineer

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Advanced Systems Group of SGS is the leading provider of Advanced Control solutions in the Minerals Processing industry with over 100 applications installed world-wide. The senior engineer will be part of this dynamic team acting as Project Manager for the implementation of our global advanced process control integration projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project management of advanced process control integration projects
Design and configure advanced control systems using SGS proprietary technology in accordance with SGS integration standards.
Design and configure control system interfaces
Provide application integration and development services as required
Perform on-site services for the design, commissioning and hand over of advanced control projects
Provide metallurgical and system support as required
Provide application and system training to clients
Supervision and training/mentoring of other process engineers as required
Assist in marketing and sales when necessary
Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

5.1 Education

Tertiary Qualification – Degree (Chemical Engineering)

5.2 Experience

Industrial Experience in the Mineral Processing industry (minimum 10 years)
Project Management Experience
Advanced control experience
Experience in Gensym G2, APET, and MET Toolkit

5.3 Competencies

Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Good interpersonal skills to handle client relations
