SUMMARY:
The main purpose of the job to provide labour law advice and draft legal opinion’s where necessary, to represent the company at the CCMA and to ensure that the company is aware and/or complies with all the relevant labour laws. The successful incumbent will report to the Manager: Employee Relations

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements

  • LLB degree
  • Admitted Attorney
  • 5 years Labour law experience with 2 years as supervisor
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Ability to partner with (and influence) senior management
  • Highly motivated, proactive and resilient
  • Ability to work through tight deadlines and under pressure

Specifications

  • Preparing and attending CCMA conciliation, arbitration and in lamina hearings
  • Ensuring that employees are updated on processes. Policies and rights applicable to them
  • Providing employee relations training to the business based on the specific needs within the departments.
  • Drafting legal opinions on the topic of employee relations and the applicable change in legislation
  • Asses, facilitate, assist and advise on workplace conflict i.e. grievances, counselling and disciplinary enquiries
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts and service level agreements.
