SUMMARY:
Purpose of the job to provide labour advice and draft legal opinions where necessary as well as present the company at CCMA and to ensure that the company is aware and complies with all relevant labour laws.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications & Experience

LLB degree
Admitted Attorney
Ability to partner with (and influence) senior management
5 years Labour law experience with 2 years as supervisor
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders throughout the organization

Job specifications

Litigation management: instructing external attorneys on matters in the labour court such as instituting or defending review applications
Drafting, reviewing and updating policies in line with legislative changes and acceptable business practices.
Drafting legal opinions on the topic of employee relations and the applicable change in legislation
Preparing and attending CCMA conciliation, arbitration and in lamina hearings
Asses, facilitate, assist and advise on workplace conflict i.e. grievances, counselling and disciplinary enquiries
