Senior Database Administrator

*Duties and Responsibilities:

*Design it: ensure that your storage solution is designed not just for now, but for the growth of years to come. Think 100x the current volumes.
*Build it: deliver great solutions that are proven to meet the data needs of the product as well as your colleagues in Support and Operations, whilst keeping up with industry best practices.
*Test it: be accountable for your own testing and for the overall quality of your output, you’ll make sure testing happens fast, frequently, and effectively. You will also be involved in peer-reviewing other engineer’s work.
*Run it: check that everything is working as expected and go hunting for problems to solve, to constantly improve the solution.
*Document Everything: make sure we have top class and up-to-date technical and use case documentation.
*Measure & maintain it: make sure that you can properly monitor your solutions, measure their performance and ensure their healthy running operations. You are responsible for its 24x7 uptime, backup, and general maintenance of it!
*Support & collaborate: Support other team members and engage with users across the company to identify ways to improve and build upon the capabilities of the Platform.

Key Skills
*A great understanding of T-SQL and SQL Server 2016 .
*Expertise and experience in data storage scaling strategies, particularly partitioning, archiving, table growth, and index maintenance.
*Extensive experience maintaining, tuning, and optimizing stored procedures and T-SQL code.
*Experience with cloud-based implementations (preferably Azure) is a must.
*Experience with infrastructure concepts such as storage pools, availability groups, read-only replicas, Windows Failover Cluster, AG listeners, database patching.
*Experience with Powershell and automation in general.
*Experience with No-SQL Databases (ideally MongoDB or similar document-based databases) will be considered advantageous.
*Some experience working with messaging technologies (preferably Kafka) is a plus.
*Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to pick up new skill sets quickly.
