Senior Creditors Clerk (Clearing Agents)

SUMMARY:
A Senior Creditors Clerk with at least 5 years experience is required at an FMCG company in PE. Previous experience in dealing with the financial aspects of clearing agents and shipping lines will be advantageous.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

- Matric / tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
- Min. 5 Years’ experience in a similar creditor’s role.
- Previous experience in dealing with the financial aspects of clearing agents and shipping lines will be advantageous
- Experience in capturing invoices in the general ledger on an accounting system.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills essential (VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables etc.)
- Experience on systems such as Pastel / Syspro.


Main Duties/Key Results Areas:

Reviewing Daily Packs & processing:
- Validation and preparation of clearing agent invoice packs to standard, daily.
- Packs to be submitted to Accounts Payable Controller / Manager daily for sign off.
- Assist the creditors clerks with processing when required.
- Ensuring that invoices are received frequently from clearing agents and that they are on target with
expected volumes.
- Bi-weekly statement checks to ensure all invoices have been received.
- Sending remittances to suppliers on payment.
- Payment allocation checks on payments.
- Confirming that processing on each account is complete before period closure.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations in accordance with standard templates and deadlines.
- All and any other related duties as expected from the employer from time to time.

Account Queries:
- Ensure that all queries on the clearing agent accounts are kept to a minimum.
- Ensure that Age Pro is maintained and updated to standard on a daily basis.

VAT Reports:
- Prepare monthly VAT reports in line with the SOP and deadlines.

Ad-Hoc
- General ad-hoc duties as requested by the Accounts Payable Supervisor and Manager from time to time.
