The company is an organization that operates within the retail sector. It utilizes Syspro 8 and MS Excel to manage debtor portfolios and financial reporting.

The Role: Senior Credit Controller

The purpose of this role is to manage a dedicated portfolio of retail accounts to ensure the ledger remains clean and overdue balances are minimized. The role contributes to the business by ensuring accurate reconciliations and resolving complex claims through cross-departmental liaison. The main focus areas include managing the operational credit cycle, investigating short payments, and utilizing ERP systems for daily processing and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize Syspro 8 for daily processing including managing receipts and processing journals.

• Manage the operational credit cycle for major retail accounts to minimize overdue balances.

• Perform intricate monthly reconciliations of high-volume retail accounts including discounts and rebates.

• Investigate and resolve pricing claims, short payments, and returns with warehouse and sales teams.

• Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts and age analysis summaries.

• Liaise with retail buyers or accounts departments to follow up on overdue accounts and resolve disputes.

About You

• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Syspro 8 including the AR module.

• Advanced MS Excel proficiency in VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, and Pivot Tables.

• Proven track record dealing with major retailers and understanding their payment cycles and deduction logic.

• Analytical ability to spot discrepancies in vast amounts of data.

• Assertive yet professional negotiation skills.

• Ability to maintain accuracy during high-pressure periods such as month-end closure.

• Macro knowledge is a significant advantage.
