Senior Commercial Underwriter - Short-Term Insurance

POSITION INFO:

Our client, a dynamic Financial Services Company based in Johannesburg North seeks to employ a Senior commercial underwriter

The position reports to our client’s Underwriting Manager, department consists of 12 Underwriters and 12 Claims Handlers, including three Team Leaders.

Job Specifications:

ïƒ˜

ïƒ˜ At least 5 years relevant Short Term Insurance experience in Commercial Underwriting, ideally having worked for a broker or a sizeable insurance company.

ïƒ˜ Must be fit & proper, ie must have passed the RE5 (Representatives) exam & must have the relevant FAIS credits.

ïƒ˜ Team player.

ïƒ˜ Bilingualism would be advantageous.

ïƒ˜ Self-driven and able to work independently, within the Company policy framework.

ïƒ˜ Cost to Company remuneration package, including:

~ Salary +- R30 000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.

Plus:

~ Compulsory membership of the Group Provident Fund, after successful completion of the 3-months probationary period: 50/50 contribution by the employee and employer respectively, plus insured benefits funded by the employer.

~ Voluntary membership of Discovery medical aid, on a 100% employee funded basis. This is administered through the Company’s payroll.

ïƒ˜ Two Performance based bonuses, paid in June and December, in terms of the rules of this policy.

ïƒ˜ 15 working days annual leave, plus 6 days special leave per annum.

ïƒ˜ Working hours: Monday – Friday 08h30 – 16h00 with a 30 minutes lunch break.

ïƒ˜ Starting asap.
