Senior Candidate Attorney / Junior Admitted Attorney

Our client, established in 2011 in Bedfordview, aims to promote legal equity in South Africa. They focus on educating communities, particularly in rural areas, to prevent legal injustices, especially in property transactions, and strive for a fair society where all individuals understand and assert their rights. They are looking for Senior Candidate Attorney / Junior Admitted Attorneys to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
Job Title: Senior Candidate Attorney / Junior Admitted Attorney
Location: Bedfordview, Johannesburg
Salary: R8 000 to R12 000 - Senior Candidate Attorney
R12 000 - R18 000 + Commission - Junior Admitted Attorney
Closing date: End July 2024

 
Duties and responsibilities:
- Handle a wide range of litigation matters, including but not limited to civil litigation, motion practice, and trial work.
- Assist with estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate administration.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, contracts, and opinions.
- Appear in court and advocate on behalf of clients.
- Negotiate and settle disputes.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals.
- Manage and prioritize multiple cases and deadlines.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.


Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:
- LLB degree or equivalent.
- Strong drafting experience.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 1+ years' experience as an Attorney, with a strong focus on litigation and estates.
- Valid driver's license and own car, as travel to court and clients is required.
- Proven experience in drafting legal documents, contracts, and opinions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Residency in Johannesburg or East Rand is essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software
