POSITION INFO:

Well-established manufacturer seeks to employ a suitably qualified and experienced Buyer to be responsible for all procurement activities.

For the position you would be required to have:

• Matric/ Grade 12
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Tertiary qualification in Procurement Management or Finances
• Minimum of 5 years'' procurement experience in a MANUFACTURING environment
• Working experience with VAT, Imports and Customs requirements a MUST
• Computer literacy (JD Edwards will be an advantage)

Responsibilities would include you to:

• Negotiation with local and foreign suppliers to achieve the best quality, price & service
• Controlling and issuing of purchase orders and follow through on deliveries
• Maintain records of all matters relating to purchases
• Manage and maintain the Import P2P process
• Regularly review suppliers and recommendations regarding alternative products and BEE purchasing requirements
• Accurate general ledger account allocations on orders
• Manage outstanding /open orders on JD Edwards system
• On time document preparation for month end
• Provide cost management information timeously to Department managers
• Manage drivers and assistant buyers
• Liaising with Treasury and clearing agents

Salary negotiable around R33k CTC per month
