Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client operating within the Financial Services industry is searching for an individual to fill their current Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant vacancy in their Pretoria North-based Finance team. Our client is looking to appoint someone to fulfil the Bookkeeping and/or Accounting functions for their clients across varying industries. If you are the ideal candidate, please apply!

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree and/or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree and/or National Diploma (NDip) specialising in Accounting
• South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) articles completed
• Previous working experience involving the full Accounting and/or Bookkeeping function within the Financial Services industry
• Fluent proficiency in BOTH English and Afrikaans languages including high level reading and writing abilities
• Valid Driver’s Licence and/or own transport
• Advanced CaseWare and Sage Pastel software skills are highly advantageous

Job description & Skills:

• Processing journals and performing General Ledger (GL) account reconciliations while ensuring that journal entries are accurately and timely processed
• Processing monthly requests to ensure the successful completion of relevant VAT, IT14, Tax, and PAYE submissions and/or reconciliations for clients  
• Engaging with clients and/or business partners to develop an understanding of needs and presenting solutions to fulfil the respective needs
• Maintaining oversight of the respective clients’ business systems, processes, and procedures to ensure that the ongoing management is complaint with relating statutory and/or regulatory requirements   
• Ensuring that financial records and financial reports are accurately compiled and efficiently managed while maintaining the data integrity
• Liaising with the relevant Audit teams and providing support to ensure that the auditing services provided support the successful completion of audits for the respective clients
• Assisting with ad hoc activities and/or duties to ensure that Accounting and/or Bookkeeping related roles and responsibilities are fulfilled as required for the respective clients
