Senior Air Quality Scientist

SUMMARY:
A diverse consulting firm, with an African footprint, is seeking a Senior Air Quality Scientist to form part of their Air Quality team. The ideal candidate has experience in emissions inventory compilations, dispersion modelling, and air quality monitoring, with strong project management skills.

POSITION INFO:

Emission inventory compilations and dispersion modelling

Air quality management plans, Air quality impact assessments and compiling atmospheric impact reports

Responsible for project team management, including financial and health and safety

Responsible for client management and business development

Willing to undertake field work if required, such as dust fallout, meteorological, particulate monitoring, passive and active sampling, etc

Compiling ambient air quality monitoring and acoustic monitoring reports

Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve zero harm

Skills & Experience:

Must have experience in Ambient monitoring

Experience in Geographic Information Systems is advantageous

Attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must have experience in emission inventories and dispersion modelling

Must have knowledge on South African environmental/air quality regulations

Excellent project management experience

Technical experience in verifying, managing and analysing monitoring data

Excellent report writing skills

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Air Quality Consulting

Qualification:

BSc (hons) Environmental Sciences, Biology, or Chemical Sciences

Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
