SUMMARY:

About the Role

Our client, a well-established and growing organisation based in Sandton, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with financial regulations, and supporting business decision-making through the provision of reliable financial information.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

BCom Accounting Degree or equivalent qualification
Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles
Minimum of 6 years' post-articles accounting experience
Strong understanding of IFRS and South African tax legislation
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with ERP/accounting systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
Assist with preparation of annual financial statements

General Ledger & Month-End Processes

Manage the general ledger and maintain accounting integrity
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
Process and review journals, accruals, and provisions
Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules

Tax & Compliance

Prepare and submit VAT calculations and reconciliations
Support income tax and provisional tax calculations
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Liaise with auditors and tax consultants during audits and reviews

Cash Flow & Treasury

Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management
Prepare cash flow forecasts and reports
Review banking transactions and reconciliations

Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
Analyse financial results against budgets and forecasts
Provide financial insights and recommendations to management

Audit & Internal Controls

Coordinate internal and external audit requirements
Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies
Identify process improvement opportunities and drive efficiencies

Package

Competitive salary: R550,000 – R600,000 per annum CTC
