JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for planning and executing internal audits, improving internal controls, and liaising with the internal and external auditors, following up and implementing audit findings and recommendations. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for asset reconciliations, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and assisting the finance team with the preparation and processing of the accounting transactions. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for month end closing, reviewing, and maintaining the company’s accounting records and ad hoc financial reports.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• BCom Accounting/BCom Honors in Accounting
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• At least 3-4 years post article experience in a similar role
• Strong analytical and internal control skills
• Strong accounting framework with a proven track record
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Working knowledge in planning and executing internal audits
• Experience in implementing audit findings and recommendations
• Working knowledge of performing the full internal audit cycle including risk management and control management
