A multinational concern specializing in photography and imaging, medical equipment and biotechnology is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. The concern is known for innovating in medicine, highly functional materials and many other high-tech areas.

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining all assets and the asset register as well as local and foreign cashbook control and reconciliation. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, internal reconciliations as well as petty cash reconciliation and reimbursement. The successful candidate will be responsible for foreign payment allocations, processing of monthly journal on SAP and performing inter-company reconciliations to balance monthly. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for accrual journals, credit note processing and reporting to the Financial Manager and Executive management on daily cash balances and weekly cashflow.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• BCom Honors in Accounting
• Completed SAICA articles is preferred

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• At least 5-7 years post article experience in a similar role
• Experience in the distribution/warehousing of goods industry is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Innovative and independent
• Working knowledge of SAP B1 is preferred
• Strong balance sheet experience
• Strong working knowledge/experience dealing with reconciliations
• Knowledge of IFRS
• Ability to meet strict month-end deadlines
• Commission calculations and goods in transit experience
• Able to embrace automation and look for innovative ways to increase efficiencies
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment
• Experience working with rebate journals and credit note posting
