A leading South African publisher is looking for a dynamic individua to join their finance team as a Senior Accountant.

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing, implementing, and maintaining financial accounting, administration, and internal control processes for the business. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reviewing and authorizing the reconciliations and journal entries as well as reporting on cost activities and variances between budgets and expenditure. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for maintaining all aspects relating to the company fixed assets.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

BCom Honors in Accounting

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience in the media/retail industries is preferred
Working knowledge of financial analysis, reporting and budgeting
Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP would be advantageous
Attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Decision making and analytical thinking
Knowledge of budgeting processes
Knowledge of relevant legislation
