Semi-Skilled Refrigeration Technician

SUMMARY:

A Company that specializes in retail shop fitting solutions, is in the market for a pro-active Refrigeration Technician to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have a full understanding of domestic refrigeration (Freon systems) 

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

• Components
• Must understand Semi Hermetic, Hermetic and Scroll Compressors and parts
• Critical systems (capillary tube flow control)
• TEV & EEV understanding
• Evaporator and Condenser coil understanding
• Setting and understanding of HP, LP and HP/LP switches
• Setting and interrogating controllers
• Electric and Air defrost systems
• Electrical wiring/components and understanding thereof.
• Manufacturing
• Flaring of pipes and flared connections
• Gas Welding of copper tubing and sound welding practices
• Bending Copper piping
• Lagging of piping
• Pressure testing and leak detection
• Plumbing and sealing
• Commissioning
• Vacuuming of system
• Charging of refrigeration systems correctly
• With a Refrigeration Gauge
• With specified Weight and checking with Gauge
• Checking temperatures, cycling of compressor, etc (general commissioning checks)
• Run testing
• Cleaning of unit
• Fault Finding
• Knowledge in tracing and finding/correcting problems in a logical manner.
• Going out to sites, fault finding and repairing.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position
• Experience in the Manufacturing and or Engineering sector
• Bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
• Computer Literate
• Driver’s license
