Security Supervisor

Outputs:

• Ensure that security equipment is safeguarded against theft and misuse.
• Inform the Security Officer Supervisor on any defects identified on equipment.
• Conduct and close out investigations relating to security or safety related matters including the liaison with authorities and emergency services
• Ensure that a high level of security services is maintained throughout Head Office daily.
• Ensure compliance to the OHS Act and all other relevant Legislation
• Mitigate risks and ensure compliance
• Ensure security standards and procedures are adhered to.
• Record and arrange for remedial action for all complaints related to safety or fire control at Head Office.
• Ensure that visitors and contractors do not proceed through the lifts before reporting to reception desk.
• Ensure that the site is deemed operationally efficient by maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees and stakeholders.
• Staff management responsibilities
• Ensure that contractual requirements are adhered to, and security staff are fully trained motivated.
• Ensure that visitors and contractors under the influence of alcohol are denied entry and do not enter the premises.
• Assist visitors and contractors by giving them escort to visited floors or areas of work and relevant parking bays.
• Ensure visitors and contractors are not wandering around in the reception area unnecessarily.
• Ensure the permit to work procedures are always maintained.
• Ensure that patrols are conducted timeously and to review the records of such patrols report.
• Attend to reported unusual observation to Facilities Management immediately.

Minimum Requirements:

• NQF Level 6 equivalent/ABET Level Grade 12 qualification and Grade B certification and registered with PSIRA grade A
• 3 - 5 years’ experience working in corporate security services and 2 years in managerial role.
• Have a clear criminal record
• Relevant Control Room and Electronic security knowledge and experience
• Report writing, investigation and audit skills
• Be organized and have good time management skills
• Have the ability to manage priorities
• Have excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Have the ability to work well as part of a team
• Be responsible and reliable
• Have a diligent work ethic with attention to detail
• Self-motivated and pro-active.
