SECURITY MANAGER

Introduction

One of the country’s leading security providers to game reserves in the Limpopo Province seeks to find a suitable person for the position of Security Manager.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational aspects relating to security including assisting with strategic planning of staff deployments, evaluation and management of security risks and administration of the security department.

Requirements:

• Grade A PSIRA registered
• Business Firearm Competency in all classes of firearms
• Relevant experience in a dangerous game environment especially pertaining to counter-poaching patrols and management thereof.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience
• Management experience
• Have a tactical operational background
• Good communication skills in English - both verbal and written
• Good team leader and able to work within and lead a structured team
• Have good analytical skills
• Computer literate
• Must be a positive person
• The incumbent will work with and report to the Security Director
• The incumbent should also be willing to serve as a Director of the game reserves' Reaction NPC

Responsibilities and Duties

• To effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the security department
• Identify potential risks to a reserve and/or premises and develop and implement mitigation measures
• Development, implementation and maintenance of security strategies and policies
• Responsible for training or facilitation thereof within the security department
• Management of human resources aspects of the security department
• Implementation and maintenance of strategies for a Joint Operations Centre
• Prevent any potential risk to the reserve and or premises
• Liaise with a variety of stakeholders on aspects pertaining of safety and security
• Ensure best practices in terms of safety and security within a dangerous game environment
