Section Engineer Concentrator Maintenance

Purpose

The Section Engineer-Concentrator Maintenance is responsible for maintenance of the plant machineries by ensuring the availability and reliability of the equipment including compliance to legislation governing the mine. 

Minimum requirements

• B. Eng./BSc Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 
• Proven operations maintenance experience. 
• Experience in maintenance of thickener, dewatering, drier, magnetic separators, conveyance and mine pumping systems.  
• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Mines and Works).  
• A working knowledge of SAP would be an added advantage.

Main duties

• Management of the maintenance of equipment at the lowest possible cost without compromising safety and quality. 
• Ensuring maintenance of the equipment with regards to planning, leading, organising and controlling. 
• Ensuring increased reliability of the equipment through cost analysis. 
• Implementing and executing maintenance strategies to ensure availability of the equipment. 
• Performing preventative maintenance using condition monitoring techniques for component repairs. 
• Ensuring critical spares availability. 
• Ensuring safe installation and proper operation, running and maintenance of all machinery. 
• Responsible for the safe erection and proper maintenance of all buildings, structures and tanks.
• Ensuring that all safety appliances, mechanisms and guards are maintained in good condition. 
• Ensuring legal compliance of equipment especially TMM, Lifting Equipment, substations, pressure vessels and conveyor belts installation to the relevant safety standards. 
• Ensuring compliance to training requirements for the employees and contractors. 
• Ensuring all work performed by contractors comply with MHSA, company policies and standards. 
• Performing SHEQ audits and inspections to ensure compliance. 
• Provision of recommendations for improved maintenance of plant and equipment. 
• Developing and maintaining operational and capital budget as per the operational and maintenance requirements. 
• Accountable for the comprehensive cost control and budgetary requirements.
