Second Line Support

SUMMARY:
Calling all 2nd Line Support Engineer a big hitter in the optical fibre network space that focuses on key areas such as, planning, installing, managing and analysing optical fibre, is looking for an exceptional focused 2nd Line Support Engineer such as yourself.

POSITION INFO:

Job & Company Description:

Your main responsibilities would be as follows:

• Respond to either first line support or end user software or hardware queries via email, phone.
• Communicate with either first line support staff or end user to resolve or escalate to third line support.
• Cooperate with the IT Manager and wider support team to ensure any recurring technical issues are addressed.
• Update the ticketing system, ensuring the call has been logged and all notes, progress and required actions have been input promptly.
• Continuously improve knowledge and understanding across the various software and hardware technologies supported by the team.

Education:

  A tertiary qualification in IT.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Min of 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role.

Must have exceptional experience in the following:

• Linux.
• Servers.
• API Course.
• SQL Statistics.
• Sales Script.

Good basic understanding in the following:

• Containerization: Docker.
• Configuration management systems: Ansible and Terraform.
• Electronic document formats: JSON, XMZ, YAML

Beneficial:

• DevOps experience.
• Cyber Security Certification.
• Networking knowledge: RADIUS, ONTs and OLTs, NMS systems, BNG and BRAS.
• Atlassian, Jira and Confluence.
• Kubernetes and Helm
