Seasoning Applications Manager

SUMMARY:
A well-known and established Food Flavours Producer requires the above to manage the development of new recipes for Customer and innovation projects, spice mixes and batch packs and conducting product trials at Clients.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Tertiary qualification in either Food Technology or Food Sciences or related is preferred.
• Previous seasoning applications experience within the food manufacturing industry is preferred.   
• Previous experience having worked within savoury or seasoning applications.
• A good knowledge of snack seasoning is preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Assist Senior Managers with all applications of flavours and development for snack products.
• Handle all applications of seasoning for the snack and related industries.
• Formulate and improve existing seasonings and oversee quality control of final product.
• Calculate and prepare costing of new developed seasonings and recommend appropriate dosages on final product.
• Liaise and assist Customers with production trials and troubleshooting on Customer sites.
• Test and analyse flavours, these include physical and organoleptic properties.
• Formulate final applications including formulating the flavour and practically applying the matched flavour.
• Consider cost parameters of flavours and final application developments.
• Ensure that information about newly developed techniques and methodologies is communicated throughout the Company.
• Develop technical specifications according to the newly developed flavours.
• Assist with Company procedures relating to HACCP and ISO 22000 standards.
• Conduct internal audits, internal calibration as well as verification of all laboratory equipment.
• Rework and reject non-conforming batches as well as assist with trial batches.
• Monitor batches that are in production, which includes utilising good manufacturing processes.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
