Scrum Master - data science team - contract position

POSITION INFO:

Contract position

Participate in planning, daily updates, review and retrospective meetings, following the agile approach used by the team

Monitoring of individuals within the team, supporting their workload management and scheduling

Contribute to the translation of business and technology needs into delivery roadmaps, capturing and grooming backlogs

Coaching agile approaches and contributing to continuous improvement of team management processes

Configuration and management of tools used by the team, e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Mattermost, Slack

Minimum work experience required:
• 5 years of working experience in the field of information technology
• 5 years of working experience in systems engineering and analysis
• Experience as a Scrum Master within IT projects.
• Formal Agile methodology training (SAFe for teams, Scrum Master)
• Experience working in computing for scientific facilities
• Experience working in Astronomy and Space Science.
• Experience working in globally distributed teams

Manage the patterns and techniques related to the Agile approach (i.e. Planning, Reviews and Retrospective formats, removal of impediments and handling of bugs, etc.)
- Help the SDP manager and technical leads design and refine agile boards and workflows
- Implement the agile boards and workflows on the appropriate digital platforms
- Help and support the process for defining, rationalizing and scheduling the team’s activities.
- Coach the development team in agile practices where the processes are not yet fully adopted and understood
- Facilitating Scrum events as requested or needed
- Ensuring the development team is working effectively, by conducting regular reviews
- Helping the team to understand and follow the goals, scope of work and product domain

- Be a certified SAFe Scrum Master
- Communicate information clearly, written and verbal
- Provide organizational support, and fit in with organizational culture and methodologies
- Ability to read and understand technical specification
- Be organised and self-organise.
