SUMMARY:
Scrum Master required for a rapidly expanding software and tech for good company in Edinburgh or Glasgow (offices across both locations).

POSITION INFO:

Scrum Master required for a rapidly expanding software and tech for good company in Edinburgh or Glasgow (offices across both locations).

The company:

They are a software company who specialise in tech for good, and specifically helping the environment. Headquartered in Edinburgh, they are looking into the possibility of opening a Glasgow office shortly and are looking to add a Scrum Master to either that office, or Edinburgh. Due to the work they do (creating sustainable and environmental solutions), there is a ton of interest in the business and they have had to scale up quickly.

They already have an experienced software function and have three Scrum and development teams in place, with Agile fully embedded. This position has arisen with an idea to further that Agile environment and to take out further barriers in the dev teams'' way. The product is at its'' early deployment phase however they are already getting great customer and market feedback on its performance.

The company are quite open that they would like to have this person in the office three days a week (up to two days from home), as they feel that a Scrum Master works best with interactions with the team. They are based in central Edinburgh, and the new Glasgow office would also be city centre too.

The role:

You will be an experienced Scrum Master and will be joining an already Agile (very much so) and collaborative team. You will be joining a team who are focused on building the cloud-based software and due to the nature of the business, the process needs to be fast and able to respond to rapid changes in the market. The tech stack is very modern for the team, namely Microsoft tech with .NET, Azure and Angular the focus (I guess this doesn''t matter too much for your job, but nice to know).

You will be working across all of these teams initially, with scope to become slightly more focused on certain teams moving forward (possibility to hire more than one Scrum Master). You will be assisting the teams in their Agile ceremonies and generally facilitating them in an Agile manner. As they are an Agile software and product company, they would love someone from a similar background. As the product develops, the software will need to grow and scale reliably and in turn this means they need the processes to be stream lined, whilst continuing their collaborative and continuous improvement mindset.

Role requirements and background:

** Previous Scrum Master or Iteration Manager across an Agile software environment

** Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies

** Can ensure that the Agile ceremonies are booked, organised, happen, and are facilitated well. (Daily Standup, Feature/Story Kickoffs, Retrospectives, Progress Demonstrations etc)

** Use experimentation and empirical evidence to remove waste, increase velocity and focus on quality

** Can work to remove impediments blocking the development teams'' progress (or escalate to the Head of Development and Product Team where appropriate).

** Report progress, issues, blockages, scope shifts and delays to the Head of Development and the Project Team

** Work with other business leaders across the company to promote Agile thinking and behaviour

This is a role in a company who are making huge strides in environmental software and you will be working in a modern environment, with a growing team.

If this would be of interest to you, please apply or call Hamish at Cathcart Associates for an informal chat.
