SUMMARY:
Sales Representative_ Metals & Skip Bins required for reputable Client based on the East Rand to procure Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Scrap Metal and placement of Skip Bins on customers' sites. Must have own vehicle and min 2 experience in the Scrap Metal / Waste Management industries.

POSITION INFO:

The key role of the Sales Representative/ Business Development Representative– is the Procuring of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Scrap Metal & the placement of Skip Bins on Clients (Suppliers) sites.

  • Focuses on buying all types of scrap metal from various generators.
  • Will communicate and negotiate with various scrap metal suppliers.
  • Aim to buy/ procure high volumes of Scrap Metal and the placement of Skip Bins on site.
  • Responsible for dealing with queries and complaints from clients.
  • Sources and approach new scrap-generating customers.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in either/ or both the Scrap Metal or Waste  Management Industry.
  • Grade 12/ Matric Qualification
  • Excellent English Speaking and Writing Skills.
  • Computer Literate

  • Networking Skills
  • Excellent Negotiation Skills and Closing of Sales turnover.
  • Can work under pressure – alone and as part of a team.

General Functions:

  • Prospect for potential Customers (scrap metal) to increase business.
  • Create and Maintain own Leads
  • Cold call as appropriate, and increase potential clients by growing, leveraging and maintaining your network.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the organization.
  • Research and Build relationships with clients.
  • Entertaining of Certain Clients which require the additional attention
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet client needs.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiations, led by Management.
  • Submit fortnightly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Forecast sales and submit target monthly at Review meetings.
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
  • Understand the company’s vision, goals and purpose so that it will enhance the Business Development department.
  • Identifying additional larger scale business opportunities and securing.
  • Identifying tender and possible contract for application.
  • Increasing of knowledge in the Scrap Metal field for scope of services.
  • Plays a part in the development of additional business services to the public that form part of the company’s vision.
  • Calculating Quotations for Potential Clients, where applicable.
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs.
  • Deliver the agreed sales volume.
  • Make the company better known in the market.
  • Is responsible for negotiations between the company and clients.
  • Responsible for New Business Development via prospecting, qualifying, selling, services and products.
  • Manage client relationship through all phases of the sales cycle.
  • Provide a consultative solutions sales process to prospects.
  • Conducts one-on-one and group sales presentations.
  • Responsible for tracking customer information, forecasts and reports.
  • Develop and maintain prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads in company software system.
