POSITION INFO:

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Sales Representative in the Stellenbosch area to start working as soon as possible.

Brief description:

The position of Sales Representative consists of selling ripe and ready avocados to restaurants and fresh food retailers where technical or scientific knowledge is required in the food and fresh produce industry.

Tasks:

• Answer customers'' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
• Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information.
• Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.
• Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers'' needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
• Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, and attending trade shows and conferences, etc.
• Maintain customer records, using automated systems.
• Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained and submit orders for processing.
• Quote prices, credit terms and other bid specifications.
• Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections, based on customers'' needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications and requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Ability to persuade others to change their minds and behavior, and to give full attention to what other people are saying.
• Ability to be aware of others’ reactions and understand why they react as they do.

Working conditions:

• Full-time position, Monday through Friday, plus promotions, trade shows and conferences that may fall on a weekend or outside normal working hours.
• Flexible work hours (+- 45 hours / week).
• Must be available after hours and weekends to assist clients should a problem arise.

Area: Stellenbosch.

Starting date: As soon as possible.

Salary: R10 000 – R15 000 per month plus commission (depending on experience).

Current commission is between R7 000 to R10 000.
