Sales Representative

SUMMARY:
West-Rand, Gauteng The successful candidate would be required to be in the office daily for the first month of employment for induction and training. Thereafter typically in the office one day a week or as required by the sales manager.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• More than 5 years’ external sales rep experience
• Experience in the mining / construction / petrochemical / steel industry
• Experience or knowledge of containers / storage units beneficial
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Own reliable vehicle
• Sales driven and energetic

Duties:

• Set appointments with existing customers, in the designated geographical area, with the intention of building relationships, retaining and growing the business
• Cold calling on potential customers, in the designated geographical area, with the intention of growing the company’s customer base and growing our market share
• Costing and quoting customers
• Updating and submitting weekly and monthly reports
• Selling and promoting all products
• Rental - Units (Containers/Flap Packs/Parkhomes) and Furniture
• Sales of Containers/Flap Packs/Parkhomes)
• Site visits and inspections to assess access for delivery and placement
• Customer visits to discuss and guide clients on layout and design of buildings and conversions required
• Gathering industry and competitor information
• Liaising with customers on lead times for units in production (sale)
• Liaising with customers on lead times and availability of trucks for rental orders
• Assisting, when required, the debtors team to recover overdue monies
• Reporting to Sales Manager

The company will supply the following:

• Cell phone
• Laptop (with data)
• Fuel card (Fuel and tolls)
• The company will offer a car allowance but will consider a company vehicle if requested by the successful candidate
• The candidate must have a reliable vehicle if they supply their own – the company will insure the vehicle with our insurers. Maintenance of the vehicle is for the employee’s cost
• This position does not offer commission – a basic salary with bonuses given at managements discretion
• Med aid (Discovery) – company pays 50% for the employee and children but spouses pay 100%
• Provident fund offered – 9% company contribution and 7% employee
