Sales Consultant - Packaging

POSITION INFO:

Our client is looking to recruit outstanding sales talent from the packaging and manufacturing industry. You will have experience in hard selling and cold calling, have a high need for achievement with self-discipline and the drive to succeed.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Sourcing of new business
• Interfacing with Production and Planning and Design departments
• Managing and achieving their Sales Budget monthly
• Identifying and exploiting new market opportunities and products
• Motivating resource allocations for any new opportunities
• Developing effective relationships with new and current Key Account Customers
• Monitoring competitor activity proactively
• Presenting professional price proposals in writing to all customers
• Ensuring that customer events are decided on and implemented
• Ensuring all customer requirements and complaints are communicated appropriately and dealt with timeously
• Communicating regularly with the Executive regarding status of sales etc.
• Ensuring that absolute stock is managed effectively and that obsolescence costs are minimised

KEY COMPETENCIES

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:

• Be in possession of a Marketing or Sales qualification (Advantageous)
• Be in possession of an Industrial Psychology qualification (Advantageous)
• Have at least 3 – 5 years’ sales experience
• Sales experience in a Manufacturing environment is essential
• Sales experience in the Packaging Industry is essential
• An understanding of the Blowmoulding Packaging industry would be advantageous
• Have a proven track record in sales
• Experienced in hard selling and cold calling
• An ability to see opportunities and grasp them
• An ability to build relationships quickly and effectively
• An ability to close deals efficiently and effectively.
• An ability to prepare and manage budgets and targets
• Analytical ability
• Computer Literacy (EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT, SAP)
• A high need for achievement
• Self-discipline and driven to succeed
