Sales Consultant

SUMMARY:
A multinational generic pharmaceutical company has a position for a Sales Consultant for their Pharma Business Unit in the Western Cape! Applicants must be currently servicing the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town as a territory with well established relationships.

POSITION  : MEDICAL SALES CONSULANT
AREA         : CAPE TOWN- SOUTHERN SUBURBS
SALARY     : MARKET RELATED

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completed Matric/Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Sciences OR Relevant Sales/Marketing qualification is advantageous.
• Well established existing customer relationship in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town with a Country Trip to George and Mossel Bay.
• Min 2-3 years strong Direct & Detailing sales experience to Dispensing Doctor''s, Retailing and Independent Pharmacies, and Scripting Doctor''s. 
• Wholesaler interaction and dealings is an advantage 
• Proficient in English and Afrikaans 
• Product Portfolio: Scheduled generic pharmaceutical product experience is essential (not OTC experience) for example, Anti-infective, CNS, CVS, Respiratory, Anti-Diabetic, Anti-inflammatory.

• Effectively communicate technical knowledge of the company’s product range in order to influence the habits of the targeted healthcare professionals in the assigned territory. 
• Book orders directly from Dispensing Doctors, Corporate & Independant pharmacies. 
• Engage in a detailing session with all parties (Scripting/Dispensing Doctors and Pharmacists). 
• Initiate a ‘switch’ strategy at pharmacy level, due to generic market
• To grow and develop new business thereby building up a solid customer base. 
• Manage the territory to achieve service level requirements in a cost efficient manner. 
• Maintaining monthly business expenditure within budget. 
• Be present at regional team meetings cycle meetings and conferences. 
• Ability to build relationships with pharmacy staff including pharmacists and pharmacy buyers. 
• Achieve 100% of set monthly/quarterly and annual sales  targets, with capability of ensuring own hand sales. 
• Provide daily reports/feedback as and when required.
